What is a Heirloom Session?
Heirloom Sessions are formal portraits of your child or children. These portraits will capture your child's features in a timeless manner. They will be treasured memories passed down for years to come. There truly is something special about heirloom portraits!
These portraits are taken in front of a white backdrop. They are edited in a true-to-color style with a white vignette.
How Does it Work?
First is the sitting portion. your child will sit in front of the backdrop and I will capture several different facial expressions. This will take around 10-15 minutes.
After I get home, I will send you a proof gallery for you to choose your favorite expressions to be edited in the heirloom style. All other good images will be edited in a normal style. Each heirloom image will be delivered in color and black and white. All your images will be delivered through an online gallery.
Heirloom portraits are designed to be framed and hung on the wall, so the goal is to choose images you want to frame! If you are looking for a high-quality printing agency, you can purchase your prints through the store in the top right corner of your gallery. Is There an Age Limit?
NO! There is no age limit for heirloom portraits. While the most common time for these portraits is ages 1-5, I can capture these portraits for any age, even high schoolers. The only requirement is that the child can sit on their own.
What Should My Child Wear?
Heirloom portraits create timeless memories, so it's important to dress in a manner that reflects the feel of the portraits. I recommend white or very light colors. Definitely no bright colors!
For younger boys, I would recommend peter pan collars (like in the images in this post). For the older boys, a white collared shirt would be perfect. For girls, I would recommend smocked dresses or dresses with peter pan collars. Collars and smocked dresses not only bring a vintage look to the photos but will help frame your child's face.
